Well, here she is. A 1992 MasterCraft ProStar 205. Its the high performance Ford 351 motor with 285 HP and the 1:1 velvet drive tranny coupled to a 13x13 four blade acme prop. She had just under 800 hours on her. Trailered it up from CT last month. Had a tire blowout on the NYS thruway and we didnt have the lug key to change out to the spare! What a mess. Anyway, when we picked her up, it was a mess. The gelcoat was completely oxidized and the teak was gray and dead looking. We wet sanded, compounded, waxed and buffed the hull back to life. The tower came with the boat, but we added some joints to allow us to fold the tower forward to get under london bridge. Howard was kind enough to weld them in for us and did a great job. We added the board racks and the mirror to the tower a couple weeks ago. We also put in perfectpass digital pro, and the newer multiline display. Had a little trouble sealing the paddle wheel thru hull for perfectpass, but the new sealant dosnt seem to be dripping. We had to blow out the old pitots and get the OEM airguide speedos working again. Then we had to repack the stuffing with the new gortex packing.
Some tasks for the future include getting a 13x11.5 prop for a little more out of the hole, moving to a new holley 4160 carb, plumbing and hardwiring in some permanent ballast pumps. And were toying with the idea of covering the teal and pink gelcoat with a nice gloss black 2 part epoxy topside.
